I'm leaving with husband on 13th october for a 3 day trip to the shangri la villingili resort at the maldives..any one has been there and can share experience...wheich activities there are the best?which restaurant..and any tips or notes will be really helpful..also what do i need to take and how will the weather be??it's fairly an expensive resort but the stay and tickets are won in a competition..we're paying for the domestic flight from male to gan though

In 2009 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, and with the money she got from insurance we decided to spend it on a once in a life time holiday, to help my mum get over it and also to remember the time we had if she ended up passing away, and we went to the maldives. It was the most amazing time of my life, words cannot describe how beautiful it is. I remember on the first night leaving the water villa, and just going sitting on the edge of the platform with my feet dangling off the edge. I was just watching the fish swimming in the little lights under the villas, listening to the waves swaying up onto the beach, and i could see lots of tiny islands in the distance lit up with spotlights. I was on my own and it was the most peaceful thing ever. Infact, when i got back into the villa after id got some air, I burst out crying because i just couldnt get over it, id only been there a couple of hours and wanted to stay there forever, but i knew i was only going to be there two weeks. unless you've been to the maldives, you really wont understand how beautiful it is. When you duck your head under water you see a rainbow of sooo many different fish and colours of coral, then you can see turtles, sharks, rays, its just breath taking. You go back onto the island and the sea is the brightest turquoise colour imaginable, and the palm trees are swaying in the wind, and at night the sky bursts with all different shades of reds and oranges from the sunset over the sea. It really is amazing, un describle. anyway, it had a strange sort of effect on me that didnt happen to the rest of the family, every time i looked at it, whether it be the sea or the sunset, i just stood there for about an hour staring at the same place, just like, wow, wow, wow, wow. I i even got tears in my eyes from how beautiful it was and i started shivvering like, wow this isnt real. Also the people were so so nice there. Throughout my whole life I'd been subject to bullying. apart from my family and a few close friends, there wasnt anyone who wanted to talk to me and anyone who did, mostly at school, spoke to me giving me abuse. It was the first time for years everyone was so nice to me and didnt avoid me or be nasty to me because i was ugly or whatever. I could go on forever about how we went on the sunset cruise and saw dolphins jumping in the sunset, how we went on a trip and swam with about 20 manta rays and had a bbq on the beach of a deserted island, but i wont.. anyway, On the last night, i was DEVASTATED. Then on the plane home, I could still see the islands from above, i was like, its ok, your still in the maldives, you havent left yet ' then all of a sudden i stopped seeing islands, and all i could see was sea. I knew we were gone. and for the whole journey home, i couldnt stop crying, but i hid it from my mum and dad by closing my eyes. The first day back, we went to B& Q to get some wood for the patio. It was awful, all i could see where old tacky council estate houses, the sky was grey and dull, it was raining and cold. I kept thinking to myself, nooo this isnt where im supposed to be There hasnt been a day gone by where i havent thought about the holiday, i must have had about 100 dreams at least since we went, and on various occasions i just sit in my room with the door shut looking through videos and pictures of the maldives and the island we went too, crying my eyes out. The effect it's had on me has been really bad. I've always had a passion for tropical, breathtaking places like the maldives and wanted to visit them all, but since i went its got 100000 times worse. Its making me really really depressed. I know i probably wont go back because theyre sinking, and because its too expensive, but i have to go back. I need to. What shall i do. Oh and just to proove how bad i am, yes, yet again i just burst out crying whilst writing this
Need some info about holiday to The Maldives?
Next year i'm planing to go to The Maldives,It looks beutifull in the pictures ive seen, if any of you have been there then can you please share your experiance Was it worth your money? Is it a family destination or a place for couples only? Is it realy like heaven on earth? What is there to do there? Etc etc Thanks
