Question: Should i visit jamaica or hawaii?

Im trying to plan my senior trip and im not sure which should i visit. Both seem like really good choices but im just not sure. Please answer below which you would choose and why. Thanks! :D |

Well, Hawaii is still America so it would depend on what you would like out of your vacation. At least with Jamaica you will out of America and for the most part experiencing a different culture, a different country. There is a lot to see and do in Jamaica, it is up to you what you make out of it. They really are two very different places to experience....my vote would be Jamaica! |

I have been to both places multiple times and I think Hawaii is much better. The drawback for Hawaii is it will cost you a lot more to fly there than to Jamaica. But Hawaii is a part of the US and thus you don't need a passport to go there, like you would to go to Jamaica. Like Jamaica, Hawaii offers you the opportunity to experience the native culture. Hotel prices will likely be very close in both places. The reasons I suggest Hawaii are because you will be more free to move around and among the Hawaiian islands than you would be in Jamaica. In Jamaica you MUST watch where you go and be very careful of getting ripped off or robbed. The travel agents even recommend that you not go off on your own away from the hotel you are staying in. Don't even take a taxi unless you get a reputable one from a hotel. Unlike Jamaica, you can go get on a public bus in Hawaii and go where ever you want. Hawaii has great beaches like Jamaica but they are more numerous and easier to get to. Hawaii also has things you will NOT find in Jamaica like the active volcano, a rain forest you can drive through called "the Road to Hana ", and the Pearl Harbor memorial. |

Most inexperienced amateur American travelers like to go to Hawaii because they can walk around pretending to be in a foreign country where they can still talk American |
