Thinking of Sicily or Kefalonia in Greece for 2 weeks in October. Which one!?
We are thinking of traveling in October around the 25th for 2 weeks. If we go to Sicily it will hopefully be to Marzamemi. I would like to know if Ortigia is a better choice or has someone got any other ideas? We are a couple 48 and 50 and a 9 year old boy. We dislike night clubs, love all cultures and good food. The reason for my main question is that we don't particularly like barren dry landscapes as we are great nature lovers especially trees. If we decide on Sicily then is Palermo worth a stop or not? Is there any where on the island that is a 'must see' a 'must stop' or a 'must stay here for 4 5 days'?We have been thinking, equally, of Kefalonia in Greece as on Yahoo questions answers I have read that it is absolutely fabulous. Is it big enough to 'do' things as we are not beach people, hence the hesitation If we do Greece as our choice then we are going to fly to Athens and drive to Kefalonia where, I presume, we take a ferry? Any ideas on what to do for a week in and around Athens or is that such a ridiculous question as there is SO much to see and do ?We are worried that both our choices are too barren and dry for our taste. If so has anyone got any suggestions as to where we could fly to from Paris that is under the 1000 Euro mark for 3 return flights?Any answers will be most welcome

Greece is sometimes considered to be the “birthplace of civilization” because?

Why is there such a growing movement towards Nazism in Greece?
Neo nazi party Golden Dawn received more than 7 percent of the vote in the last election. And, the flag of the party, a flag looks like a swastika, will be waved outside of the Parliament. It is a party that sells copies of Mein Kampf at their headquarters and makes Nazi salutes. So, why is there such a big support for Nazism in Greece?

My question is for anyone who has been on a cruise..what should I expect and what should I bring...things that aren't so obviousAlso did you enjoy your cruise..why or why notThank you so much
